BRUSSEL : September 9, 2008 - Three world premieres for Toyota in Paris At this year’s Paris Motor Show, three new Toyota models will make their world premiere.
Firstly, Toyota will unveil the all-new Avensis, its European flagship model. Designed, engineered and built in Europe, the third generation Avensis brings a new level of superior quality, dynamic handling and refined ride comfort. Conceived by ED2, Toyota’s advanced design studio in the South of France, the all-new Avensis will be available in two body shapes, a sedan and a wagon.
Building on its heritage, the new Avensis active and passive safety standards are brought to an even higher level thanks to new advanced safety specifications such as Steeringassist Vehicle Stability Control (VSC+), Adaptive Front Light System (AFS) and Pre-Crash Safety System (PCS).
Also on stage is the final production model of the new iQ, Toyota’s radical city car. Carrying four people, for instance 3 adults and a child in less than 3 metres in length, in comfort and safety at motorway speeds up to 170 km/h is just the beginning of the iQ story.
With its packaging innovations and advanced powertrain technologies, the iQ will form a major milestone in Toyota’s environmental commitment and continuous efforts to develop technologies that reduce emissions to much lower levels.
The third Toyota highlight will be the world premiere of the Urban Cruiser 1.4-litre D-4D diesel All Wheel Drive (AWD). With its distinctive personality and responsible All Wheel Drive performance, the Urban Cruiser represents a new form of recreation vehicle.
These three world premieres mark the beginning of an unprecedented product offensive by Toyota throughout the course of 2009.
