For 2009, the CL550 4MATIC and new generation SL63 AMG both offer sporty, luxurious driving characteristics and unparalleled levels of safety and advanced technology. The CL550 4MATIC is powered by a 382 hp V8, and the new-generation 4MATIC full-time all-wheel drive system, innovative four-wheel electronic traction control and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) integrated with the seven-speed automatic transmission work together to provide greater directional stability, even when road conditions are poor.

The SL63 AMG roadster is powered by a 6.2 litre V8 engine that produces an impressive 518 hp and 465 lb.ft of torque. With special software programming for the Active Body Control (ABC) system, AMG struts with firmer damping and enhanced AMG chassis, the SL63 AMG provides exceptional handling that is consistent with its legendary racing roots.

“We are very pleased that AJAC members have selected both Mercedes-Benz vehicles to receive this prestigious award,” said Marcus Breitschwerdt, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. “For many years the legendary SL-Class and powerful and luxurious CL-Class have had the distinction of being benchmarks in their respective classes. The first place tie for the SL63 AMG and CL550 4MATIC in this important category re-affirms their place at the pinnacle of the premium luxury segment.”

The ML320 BlueTEC diesel is powered by a 210 hp V6 engine that develops 400 ft-lb of torque. Achieving 20%-40% greater fuel efficiency then comparable gasoline engines, the BlueTEC engine offers four cylinder fuel consumption with V8 output; providing impressive acceleration and excellent pulling and towing power.

“The M-Class has always been a trailblazer in the premium SUV segment, and now the new 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 BlueTEC offers customers more aggressive styling, a more luxurious interior, and the world’s cleanest state-of-the-art BlueTEC diesel that meets the most stringent BIN5 and ULEV emissions requirements.
