Defunct F1 Team Brabham Racing Gets New Lease On Life With BMW Tuning Shop

Brabham B-92

Brabham Racing, one of the most successful British racing teams in Formula 1, has announced its triumphant return to the car scene after a 16 year hiatus. Come this winter, though, its engineers won't be constructing race winning Formula 1 racecars, but will be tuning fully-custom BMW road machines.

At this year's Essen Motor Show in Germany (November 29 through December 7), Brabham Racing will debut its latest BMW based models called the BT 92 (M3), BT 60 (M5)and BT 70 (X6). Each will sport extensively developed carbon fiber aerodynamic and braking components, in addition to yet undisclosed engine modifications.

Brabham claims the upcoming models will embody the company's message of "high-tech, quality, sportiness, design, exclusiveness and history."

Expect more details to emerge as the Essen Motor Show draws near.
