Blue Power : 2009 Ford Focus RS

2009 FORD Focus RS - Performance Blue

Ford Europe continues to tease with more images of the new 2010 Focus RS in performance blue.

Developed under the watchful eye of Ford's European performance guru Jost Capito and rendered in Performance Blue in its latest iteration, the Focus RS packs a mighty wallop, to the tune of 296 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.

Powered by 2.5-liter Duratec five-cylinder turbocharged engine under the hood coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox, the car's official top speed is a shade over 160 mph, and Ford says it will gallop from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.

To maintain proper grip, the Focus RS sports a new Quaife limited-slip differential with automatic torque biasing to minimize torque steer and enhance tractability. Oversize brakes, uprated shocks and springs, 19-inch wheels and tires, and stability control are part of the kit.

In addition to Performance Blue, Focus RS customers can choose from Ultimate Green and Frozen White. The cabin features Recaro buckets, a custom gauge cluster and brushed aluminum trim.

Price estimates range from $40,000 to $50,000, depending on location and dealer markup, and the RS should reach European dealers sometime in March.
