Cargraphic and Bilstein have a challenge at the Hockenheimring

Cargraphic Porsche 997 Turbo GT RSC 3.6

AUTO CENTRAL – March 17, 2009: A company who wants to get the ultimate knowledge about their suspension technology has only one option: To ask the Rallye-Legend Walter Röhrl. One who lets the 1.96m tall man at the steering wheel should be prepared to be confronted with the truth, which can be very uncomfortable if the product doesn’t satisfy him. The targets are quickly specified: Perfection – Röhrl is very critical in a positive term.

Sports car Tuner Cargraphic together with suspension specialist Bilstein are going to invite him to the Hockenheimring for the 15th April 2009. On another famous track, the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, Röhrl was the first driver to finish a lap in a standard road car below 8 minutes. The Mission: To test the Airlift-Suspension together with the Bilstein B16 adjustable coilover suspension at extreme racing conditions in a Cargraphic prepared 459KW/624PS powered Porsche 997 Turbo GT RSC 3.6 L and therefore we like kindly invite you Journalists to see the Master on the Wheel live at his work.

But what is it about this Airlift-Suspension? “We looked for a solution of lowered Sports cars to be usable for the driver in daily use”, said Michael Schnarr who together with his brother Thomas are the principals of Cargraphic. “Especially curbstones and steep underground car park exits are reasons for parts damages to these cars”. The innovative sports car tuner from Landau therefore developed the Airlift, a pneumatic levelling system, which rises the front ride high up to 55 mm. The difference to a conventional Air ride system is no loss in the vehicle’s dynamic performance.

Because only the rise of ride height is done by an air cushion and the dynamic performance is controlled by the well-known Bilstein B16 adjustable coilover suspension. “The suspension performance of our Porsche is exactly the same with or without the Airlift system”, Thomas Schnarr is sure about it. Will Walter Röhrl think the same? Because he is an extreme evaluator. The Schnarr brothers from Landau are optimistic: “With our product development we are very much precise and in details as no other company. This perfection we share with Walter Röhrl as well as the same birthplace Regensburg.”

If Tuner Cargraphic is right, who claims to be “The Performance Company”, it will be finally seen on the tarmac of the Hockenheimring.
