DACIA revealed SANDERO 1.4 LPG : Ecologically Friendly, Economical and Reliable

DACIA SANDERO 1.4 LPG

Following the launch of Dacia Sandero dCi 70 and dCi 85 (120g of CO2/km), Dacia Sandero 1.2 16V (139g of CO2/km) in February, 2009, Dacia Sandero 1.4 LPG – which qualifies for the Dacia eco² signature - rounds off Dacia's line-up of economical, ecological versions.

With CO2 emissions of just 135g/km, Dacia Sandero 1.4 LPG is an ecologically friendly car. LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is respectful of the environment. In the case of a 1.4-litre engine, using LPG fuel results in a CO2 emissions saving of almost 20 per cent compared with exclusive use of petrol. LPG contains neither sulphur, lead
nor benzene, and its combustion does not produce any particulates.

Dacia Sandero 1.4 LPG is economical, both to buy and run. The pump price of LPG is particularly competitive, and is the cheapest fuel in France at an average price of €0.66/litre. It is also available across the country in 1,850 service stations. LPG vehicles qualify for generous tax incentives, too: Dacia Sandero 1.4 LPG emits less than 140g of CO2/km and is consequently eligible for the country's €2,000 eco-bonus. On top of that, registration documents for LPG vehicles are either entirely or partially tax-free in many of France's departments.

Dacia Sandero is a dual-mode vehicle with separate tanks for petrol and gas. Dacia Sandero 1.4 LPG thus offers fuel-flexibility – the driver selects the fuel type thanks to a button located at the bottom of the gearbox – along with record range. Dacia Sandero 1.4 LPG can cover up to 1,200km on full
tanks of petrol and gas.

Dacia Sandero 1.4 LPG is a safe vehicle. The LPG hardware was designed by the world's leading specialist, Landi Renzo and is fitted at the Pitesti plant in Romania. Dacia Sandero 1.4 LPG complies fully with the group's exacting safety standards, as well as with the appropriate European safety standards (ECE 67-01). The steel fuel
tank is extremely strong and, in keeping with European legislation, is equipped with a long list of safety equipment: anti-return valve, fill limiter (80 per cent), flow restrictor and solenoid safety valve. The LPG tank has been fitted to keep the boot capacity (320 dm3 VDA) of the Dacia Sandero, confirming the unbeatable price/equipment/roominess ratio of the vehicle.

Last but by no means least, the 1.4 engine (K7J) is reliable and robust, as it has demonstrated under the bonnet of numerous other Renault and Dacia models. To enable it to run on LPG, it has undergone specific modifications (specially treated valves and valve seats).

The 1.4 engine complies fully with the criteria of cost, robustness and ease of servicing which characterize all Dacias. Its maximum power output is 55kW (75hp) at 5,500rpm, while peak torque stands at 112Nm at 3,000rpm. As is the case with all the group's petrol engines, the servicing interval for the 1.4 engine is every
30,000km or every two years, irrespective of the type of fuel employed (petrol or gas). The car's first scheduled service is after its first 15,000km on the road.

DACIA SANDERO 1.4 LPG comes in a choice of three equipment levels, start from €8,900.
