COLOGNE : October 27, 2009 - The Volvo XC60 is the future in a sporty outfit at the start: From the end of 2009 is the first cross-over model of the Swedish manufacturer in the attractive R-Design trim level available. The distinctive sporty body design elements and the sumptuous interiors of Volvo's bestseller lend a special flair, and the general model selection is all the customer's needs. For the Volvo XC60 R-Design is in all five engines of the series and is available with either front-or all-wheel drive. The surcharge for the R-Design package is 2.995, - Euro in comparison to the equipment line, Kinetic, based on the equipment line, the R-Design. In addition, the Volvo XC60 2.4D AWD in addition to the automatic version is now available with a 6-speed manual transmission.


Numerous exclusive equipment details, highlight the distinct appearance of the Volvo XC60 R-Design. This farbangepasste bumpers and door sills, matte chrome trim in the front and rear and the rocker panels, mirror housings are in "Silk metal" finish, polished dual tailpipes and 18-inch alloy wheels "Cratus" (optional: 20 inches). In addition, the Volvo XC60 R-Design has a sports suspension with modified steering box. As an exclusive color variant of the "Bright Red" stands for election.

The distinctive exterior design is complemented by an equally sporty interior. It includes a sports leather upholstery (in Soft Beige or Anthracite) with R-design stamp, R-Design aluminum inlays, and blue deposited instruments in aluminum look. In addition, the multifunction sport steering wheel with R-Design emblem, sport gear knob are leather, sports gear lever gate, sport pedals, and the R-Design Textile floor mats.

Five engines, two drive options
The Volvo XC60 R-Design is available in five engine variants to choose from. The range consists of two six-cylinder petrol engine with 285 hp (210 kW) and 238 hp (175 kW) and three diesel engines with 205 hp (151 kW), 175 hp (129 kW) and 163 hp (120 kW). In addition to the four-wheel drive versions with a very economical DRIVe variant is available with front-wheel drive available. Power is transmitted either by means of a six-speed automatic (standard with AWD T6 AWD and 3.2) or a six-speed manual transmission.

Since the launch a success
The Volvo XC60 is one of the most successful models of the Swedish producer and has been since its launch in November 2008 nationwide sold more than 7,000 times. The Volvo XC60 accounts for up to one third of the monthly volume of admission, and so is Germany for the crossover model of the number one market in Europe. At the same time the Swedish manufacturer Volvo XC60 bestowed numerous new customers and is proving itself as a driving force for the entire brand. The particularly sporty R-Design version has the potential to attract more new customers for Volvo.
