2013 SUPERGT : ZENT CERUMO SC430 gets its first win of the season! BMW conquers in the GT300 class

GT500 class winner : No. 38 ZENT CERUMO SC430 : Yuji Tachikawa / Kohei Hirate

The FUJI GT 300km RACE, Round 6 of the AUTOBACS SUPER GT, took place at Fuji Speedway (one lap 4.563km x 66 laps) in Shizuoka Pref. on Sept. 8. In difficult conditions with rain drizzles on and off, the winner of the GT500 class was the No. 38 ZENT CERUMO SC430 driven by Yuji Tachikawa and Kohei Hirate. The GT300 class winner was the No. 4 GSR HATSUNEMIKU BMW driven by Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Kataoka.

NEW 2014 GT500 CLASS MACHINES UNVEILED AT SUZUKA!

Lexus LF-CC, Honda NSX CONCEPT and Nissan GT-R

In the morning of August 16th with the Round 5 Pokka Sapporo 1000km proceeding the next day, new model cars of Lexus (Toyota), Honda, and Nissan that will be fielded in next season’s GT500 class were unveiled at Suzuka Circuit. The new cars are built based on the same chassis and aerodynamics specifications as Europe’s popular racing series, “Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft,” and, with the GRAND-AM of the USA also planning to start a racing series aligned with the same specification in the future, the initiative is expected to facilitate globalization of motorsports by allowing mutual participations and inter-series racing by racing cars from different countries.

LEXUS TO COMPETE IN 2014 JAPANESE SUPER GT SERIES WITH NEW VEHICLE

New LEXUS SUPER GT Series GT500 Race car

TOKYO – August 16, 2013 – Lexus Racing announced a new race car based on the Lexus “LF-CC” that will compete in the Super GT Series GT500 class starting next season. The vehicle will replace the Lexus SC 430 currently used in Super GT races.

The Lexus LF-CC is a two-door coupe concept that debuted at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012. It features a dynamic exterior with an emphasis on aerodynamics and cooling performance.

The SUGO GT 300km RACE, Round 4 of the 2013 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, was run at Sportsland SUGO (one lap: 3.704 km x 81 laps) in Miyagi Prefecture on July 28. In the GT500 class race the ARTA HSV-010 driven by Ralph Firman and Kosuke Matsuura won the team's first victory in three years. In the GT300 race, the ARTA CR-Z GT driven by Shinichi Takagi and Takashi Kobayashi took its second straight series win to make ARTA victorious in both classes.
