Mazda set to expand Microcar and Compact SUV range

Mazda Kiyora Concept

According to AutoCar, Mazda’s president and CEO, James Muir told that, he wants Mazda to become a “more aspirational brand that will be an alternative to the premium manufacturers.”

Small cars, including the microcar that will be based on the Kiyora concept are going to play a much bigger role in the company’s future and expect more than one variation on the new Mazda 1.

The next MX-5 will arrive in 2012 with more lightweight. The new RX-7 is in the works, although it is yet to be officially confirmed for production, a modern version of the rotary-engined icon would form an ideal halo model to a more premium Mazda range.
