2009 BMW X3 xDrive 18d

BMW has introduced a new entry-level version of the BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle for European markets. The X3 xDrive 18d features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel that produces 105 kW (143 hp) and offers combined cycle fuel consumption of 6.2 L/100km (38 mpg US), with CO2 emissions of 165 g/km.

Maximum torque from the 2.0 liter engine is 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), and the new X3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds, with a maximum speed of 195 km/h (121 mph). The all-wheel drive BMW X3 xDrive 18d is Euro 5 compliant.

The 18d displaces the 20d as the fuel-efficient entry point to the lineup. The xDrive 20d delivers 130 kW (177 hp) with fuel consumption of 6.5 L/100km (36 mpg US) and CO2 of 172 g/km. The 18d brings to seven the number of engine variants available on the X3: three gasoline and four diesel.

BMW will begin selling the X3 xDrive 18d in Austria in June.
