Since 2007, more than 41,000 Clio by Rip Curls have been sold in more than 20 countries. To build on its successful association with the celebrated board sports brand, Renault has now released a new limited edition, Twingo by Rip Curl. Based on Twingo Dynamique, this limited edition features extra-tinted rear glass and special exterior Rip Curl trimming on the foglamp surrounds, rear quarter panels and hatch.
The cabin has been revisited by Rip Curl and features specific upholstery including embroidered Rip Curl badging, plus Rip Curl branding on the door sills. The new Dyna Red body colour adds a distinctly dynamic touch and has been carried over to the interior for the climate control buttons, speedometer surround and organizer box ring. The partnership between Rip Curl and Renault not only showcases the passion which the two companies share for liberty but also underlines their commitment to protecting the environment. Indeed, Renault contributes financially to the Rip Curl Planet Foundation, which is associated with the WWF. Twingo by Rip Curl meets all three of the conditions necessary to qualify for the Renault eco² hallmark. The engine range (in France) is based on the 1.2 LEV 75hp, 1.2 16V 75hp, dCi 65 and dCi 85 powerplants, with prices for this new limited edition starting from €12,150 (tariff reference 2178). Meanwhile, the 1.2 LEV, dCi 65 and dCi 85 versions are all eligible for the €700 ecobonus scheme run in France. This limited edition model is also available in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Austria, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

world-renowned surfing and board sports brand with the release of Twingo by Rip Curl. This limited edition is especially likely to appeal young, sporty audience, and the Rip Curl influence is immediately apparent. Based on Twingo Dynamique, the Rip Curl version features extra-tinted rear glass and bespoke decorative trimming on the foglamp surrounds, rear quarter panels and hatch. The newcomer also sees the introduction of a new metallic body colour, Dyna Red, which takes the number of metallic finishes to five (Pearlescent Black, Extreme Bleu, Platine Grey, Blue Grey, Dyna Red), plus one non-metallic finish (Glacier White).
The Rip Curl signature is apparent in several details inside the cabin, too: -Rip Curl upholstery with visible red stitching, with embroidered Rip Curl badging on the front and rear headrests, -Rip Curl-branded door sill, -Metallic red speedometer surround, -Lacquered Dyna Red Organizer Box ring, -Metallic red climate control buttons, -Rip Curl door trim motifs. In addition to its radio-CD with MP3 playback and RCA connectivity, Twingo Rip Curl comes with independent, sliding rear seats which ensure unprecedented cabin space, comfort and modularity for the A segment.
Twingo by Rip Curl is respectful of the environment and meets all the conditions necessary to qualify for the Renault eco² signature. Depending on country, a range of up to four engines is available (1.2 LEV 75hp, 1.2 16V 75hp, dCi 65 and dCi 85). With the dCi 85hp engine, Twingo by Rip Curl emits just 104g of CO2/km (equivalent to combined-cycle fuel consumption of 4 litres/100km). The dCi 85 version stands out through its punchy performance and driving pleasure (62kW and 200Nm), while the dCi-and 1.2 LEV 75hp-engined versions are eligible for the €700 eco-bonus scheme in operation in France. This partnership includes Renault's participation in the Rip Curl Planet Foundation which is run in association with the WWF. Renault's commitment alongside Rip Curl concerns the protection of natural habitats commonly associated with board sports (mountain areas and coastal regions), -environmental education and awareness programmes, -ecodesign-led research and development work on surfing products (surfboards, wetsuits, clothing). In addition to France, Twingo by Rip Curl is also marketed in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Austria, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
