  • 200 hp 2.0 TSI engine with Multitronic gearbox and steering wheel paddles
  • New entry-level Diesel engine – 120 hp 2.0 TDI CR
  • New BOSE sound system and new navigation system for the entire range
MARTORELL : September 21, 2009 - The SEAT Exeo range keeps growing since its market launch last March when the sedan version made its debut, followed by the addition in June of the Exeo ST estate version. Now there are two new engines available on the SEAT Exeo and ST range – the 200 hp 2.0 TSI with automatic sequential Multitronic gearbox and steering wheel shift paddles, and the 120 hp 2.0 TDI CR, which is the new entry-level Diesel variant.

The current model offer on the SEAT Exeo range includes three petrol engines – the 102 hp 1.6, the 150 hp 1.8 turbo and the 200 hp 2.0 TSI, and three DPF equipped common rail Diesel engines – the 120, 143 and 170 hp 2.0. They are all mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, except the 200 hp 2.0 TSI, which features a Multitronic gearbox, and they all comply with EU5 emissions regulations.

Unparalleled Multitronic driving pleasure

The comfort associated with the automatic Multitronic system combined with the powerfully versatile 200 hp 2.0 TSI engine is an exciting novelty on the Exeo range.

This system has an electronically managed continuously variable transmission and instead of providing a set number of gears, there is an almost unlimited number thanks to a stepless gear change. This optimises each gear according to vehicle speed and needs at all times.

Performance on the Exeo sedan equipped with the 200 hp 2.0 TSI Multitronic is the following – top speed of 235 km/h, 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 7.3 seconds and 0 to 1000 metre acceleration in 28.1 seconds. The performance figures for the same engine on the Exeo ST are 230 km/h, 7.6 seconds and 28.4 seconds, respectively.

The car’s sporty, functional appeal is rounded off with Multitronic shift paddles on the steering wheel arrangement for fingertip driving comfort and added safety.

Another novelty on the Exeo range is the 120 hp 2.0 TDI CR engine, which has become the entry-level Diesel version alongside the 143 and 170 hp models.

The new engine found on the Exeo and Exeo ST is another variation on the 2.0 TDI CR engine. It delivers 120 hp thanks to its different electronic engine management and lower turbo pressure (2,200 millibars) compared to the 143 hp engine. At the same time it provides an outstanding 290 Nm from 1,750 to 2,500 rpm, which translates in brilliant in-gear acceleration figures.

Benefits of the common rail system include enhanced engine performance, lower noise levels, reduced emissions levels and less fuel consumption. Mileage on the Exeo sedan equipped with the 120 hp 2.0 TDI is a mere 5.3 l/100 km with 139 g/km of emissions (5.5 l/100 km and 143 g/km on the Exeo ST). This interesting option is already available in the SEAT showrooms.

New sound system and new navigator

One of the main attractions added to the equipment line-up of the Exeo range is the BOSE sound system with 10 precision speakers that guarantee unbeatable acoustics within the passenger compartment. Another is a new, easy to use MMI (Multimedia Interface) navigation system, which includes a six-inch black and white screen.

Another outstanding element found on the Exeo is the recently added WIV variable maintenance system, which considerably lengthens the time between service appointments and informs the driver on the distance remaining before the next visit.

Such interesting options include the special Style Plus (on Style) and Sport Plus (on Sport) packages. The first one features light alloy 17 inch wheels, interior wood inserts, dual xenon headlights + AFS, headlight washers, daytime driving lights and Coming Home, while the second includes 18 inch light alloy wheel rims, dual xenon headlights + AFS, headlight washers, daytime driving lights and the electrical package 1, which includes park position door mirrors, rear parking sensor, rain sensing wipers, automatic lights on, anti-dazzle rear-view mirror, acoustic protection windscreen, grey anti-glare stripe and Coming Home.

The storage package is also available on the Exeo sedan on all three trim levels, featuring storage drawers beneath the front seats, a storage net on the right side, as well as a ski bag, a 12 volt socket in the boot and hooks for carrying bags. The Exeo ST storage package only includes an elastic retainer in the boot and a ski bag. The Servotronic steering system is available on selected Exeo and Exeo ST models (as standard with the 200 hp TSI and 170 hp TDI CR, and optional with the rest of the engine line-up except the 102 hp 1.6). This system provides greater driving comfort and ease depending on the car’s speed.
